I mean, I know it's going to be a good camera but I've confined it for studio use and landscapes in my head. But I have to say, it's certainly got me more interested, especially since it's the about the same price as Canon's new 24-70mm 2.8 MkII L.... I’ve been somewhat dismissive of the D800. Agreed that we need to wait until people who paid real money for the thing have a chance to test the beast out. Around the office though, it seems like most would agree that "on paper," it does look like quite the bang for the buck. I wouldn't mind getting one... However I'd rather have all the same features except less MP (18'sh is fine!) with improved ISO capabilities and better dynamic range capabilities that at least match that of the D4. Duh. I too will visit a local camera store to view new products, then depending on what the "on shelf" stock is, store and staff experience I might buy it in store.
