I’ve had two emails asking me the same question in the last 24 hours! What’s going on?
The questions, basically the same, were “If you had to purchase another camera body to use along side your Canon 5D Mark II what would it be?”
After much deliberation, I figure that I’d get me something a little quicker, still with good high resolution… Nothing quite like the Canon EOS-1D Mark IV but something, in my opinion, that would fill that gap very nicely. Welcome, the Canon EOS 7D!
If you had to buy one body, right now, what would it be? Comments welcome.

You read my mind! I’m planning on picking up a 7D next week as back up to the 5d2!
‘had to’, like gun at my head, do it, doo it!? Or If I had the money what would be my next camera?
First reason, it would be a Leica (MP early, or M6J or a new MP, or of course and a la carte)
Why? Well if I had a gun to my head, it could go off, before I die I must experience the feeling of a prize leica called ‘mine’!
Second reason, I would say a Leica S2, hassy HD3 or M9.
Why? Because these cameras represent strong additions to my dslr’s, the M9 would be my discrete option and the S2 or hassy when I want absolute quality without wearing a cloth hood.
I now have images in my head of shooting at vancouver with an S2, thanks, now it’s back to reality.

Yep, in the process two possible three images going in, I would be very, very, extremely surprised if I got as far as the 64Gb cf card. The S2 will alas remain a dream, until the S3 is launch, then I will be so over the S2, ahh the S3!
Since I’m a Nikon person currently using a D200 it would be the D700. But eagerly awaiting the update either more Mpx or Video.
Wasn’t really bothered about video before but reading a couple of Pro Photography mags recently – everybody seems to be banging on about it! So Might as well wait for that feature.

Video is damn good, I was a total skeptic prior to the 5DMk2, but it’s a good option…
