Yeah - guess it could have been confusing. I only use two channels for music. (fyi - it's an amazon link... amazon named it, it's there so people click it, buy stuff and I get money for nothing...)

understand now?...

you referenced your surround speakers in the article which insinuated that's what you were using to listen to the album. why reference them if you're not using them to listen to the album you're reviewing? to show off the fact that you have them? if you weren't suggesting you listened to the album over surround speakers, then the information about the surround speakers was irrelevant to the review and should've been omitted. if you were simply putting that information in the article to show off how avid a music fan you are, then you are a tool. lots of people have surround speakers. either way, the speakers have nothing to do with the album. the fact that you put that information in the review led me to believe you were using them to listen to the album you were reviewing, which prompted me to point out that listening to stereo mixes on surround is not the most practical way to go about it. understand now?

...I don't follow you, Anon, I listen to ALL stereo mixes in stereo. Two Ch... I just mentioned the speakers I had here at my desk, at work. At home I listen via B&W 703's...(Just two of them) There is no issue here for you to deal with, but again, I appreciate your input.

The album is solid, much better than I expected it to be. I still recommend listening to stereo mixes through stereo speakers though, you are undoubtedly phase cancelling chunks of audio by listening to stereo mixes through surround speakers. I'm not just talking out of my ass, I'm on the tail end of a degree in sound recording technology, and deal with these issues daily...

To the author...listening to a stereo cd on surround speakers doesn't make the cd surround. It's still mixed for two speakers, all you're doing is listening to two channels of audio through 5 speakers, and are likely actually omitting parts of the mix through phase cancellation. However, if the surround setup has a 'stereo' mode and your speakers are set up EXACTLY the way they should be, then it should still work out...
